COVID-19, given you lots of free time – but you still want to progress your diving and learning something new? eLearning is for you! Below are a range of PADI courses which will progress your diving and teach you something new, when COVID-19 has gone away and we can all dive again, the practical aspects of these courses will be taught. 

How does it work?

After enrolling, you will learn through videos, audio, graphics and reading. Progress through the material at your own pace using a desktop, laptop or mobile device. Quizzes help you evaluate your progress and identify sections you may need to review.

How do you document that you have completed the digital course segment?

You will print out an eRecord after finishing your online training and bring it to Rec2Tec Diving.

PADI Advanced Open Water

Exploration, Excitement, Experiences. They are what Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. And no, you do not have to be “advanced” to take it – it is designed so you can go straight into it after the Open Water Diver course. The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. You will gain diving experience in different conditions, refining existing skills and learning new ones

Course Prerequisites:

  • Age Requirement – 12 years or older
  • Open Water Diver/Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)

Time Commitment – Approximately 8 hours

What does it cover?

Your eLearning purchase covers basic knowledge and safety concepts to make the two required dives (Deep and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dives), and five of the most popular elective dives (Night Dive, Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive, Wreck Dive, Boat Dive and Underwater Naturalist Dive).

PADI Rescue Diver

Scuba divers describe the PADI Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they have ever taken. Why? Because you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed. During the course, you learn to become a better buddy by practising problem solving skills until they become second nature. Plus, the course is just fun – it’s serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between the focused learning.

Course Prerequisites:

  • Age Requirement – 12 years or older
  • Adventure Diver/Junior Adventure Diver (or qualifying certification)
  • Underwater Navigation Dive
  • EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or qualifying training) within 24 months

Time Commitment – Approximately 10-12 hours

What does it cover?

The PADI Rescue Diver course covers minor dive problems and major dive emergencies and a variety of techniques to deal with and avoid each. Topics include: The Psychology of Rescue, Recognising Diver Stress, Accident Management, and Responding to Diver emergencies, Equipment Problems, and more.

What else is required to complete the course?

You will practice your knowledge and skills during inwater rescue scenarios in confined water and open water. Exercises include: self-rescue; panicked diver; response from shore, boat or dock; distressed diver; first aid and oxygen administration; and more.

PADI Enriched Air Diver

Learn to dive with Enriched Air Nitrox and get more time underwater.

What this course will cover:​

  • Techniques for getting more dive time by using Enriched Air Nitrox
  • Enriched air scuba diving equipment considerations
  • Enriched air considerations, including managing oxygen exposure
  • How to tell what’s in your scuba tank
  • How to set your dive computer

Course Prerequisites:

  • Age requirement – 12 years or older
  • PADI Open Water Diver or qualifying certification

Time commitment – 18 hours

What does it cover?

You will learn how use enriched air for no-stop recreational diving with an enriched air compatible dive computer while using enriched air with 22 to 40 percent oxygen; how to analyse the enriched air mix in your scuba cylinder and determine the maximum depth for the blend, how to set the enriched air percentage on your dive computer and how to monitor no-stop limits and oxygen exposure on the dive.

What else is required to complete the course?

Beyond eLearning, you will have a practical session with your PADI Instructor to apply the information you have learned. You and your instructor will decide if you will practice diving with enriched air.
