We are. . . Alex

I was always a water baby, on holiday you would find me either in the pool or in the sea. It was only natural that I would find scuba diving appealing but it was not until I took my first breath underwater that I realised how much I was missing out on. It is a strange but wonderful sensation. Strange because although you know the equipment is there, the thought of being able to breath underwater is still so alien. Then it happens – you feel the air rush down into your lungs and immediately the previous thoughts disappear and the wonderful realisation that you are free to explore this new environment. At least this was my experience.

I think it is safe to say I was hooked from that point on. I started my journey in Egypt with the PADI Open Water course, then I was given the chance to complete the PADI Advanced Open Water course in Borneo. When I went to Thailand I was shown the wonders of wreak and night diving through the PADI Specialities. In fact we changed our whole holiday just so that I could complete the PADI Rescue Diver course too. At this point I wanted to live underwater and could not stand only diving when on holiday. It was at then that I found Rec2Tec Diving, I went into the shop to meet the team and to talk about completing my dry suit speciality. I left the shop signed onto the course and looking forward to heading off for an Indian as part of the club social. Now with Rec2Tec Diving I have completed my dry suit speciality (I now have more cold water dives than any other), my PADI Master Scuba Diver, my PADI Divemaster and I am currently working my way towards being an assistant instructor with the hopes of being a PADI Open Water Instructor soon. I have still only scratched the surface of all the diving skills you can undertake and I have picked up many good friends along the way. I am always looking forward to the next adventure and the one that excites me the most is that in a few years I will be teaching my son how wonderful the underwater world is too.
